See her smile, see her laugh

but is it real or is it fake?

See how her eyes glaze over

at sites she cannot take

But look real deep

No glitter, no shine

But she hides well

You’ll think she’s fine

One dark and cold

She’s lifeless inside,

Nothing to hold

Empty heart beats

and an empty smile

The sun shines for her

only once in awhile

She stays locked in

She’s not one to talk

You’d think she’s fine

as if life’s a simple walk

She seems so together

as if nothing is wrong

But deep inside she’s suffering

she’s been hurting for so long

So look at her again

can you see past that smile?

Can you see past that laugh

and sit with her awhile?

Can you see that it’s all fake?

And see those empty eyes?

Can you see that her life

is filled with secrets and lies?

But look into her face

and brush away her tears

Tell her not to hide anymore

‘cause you’ll fight away her fears

Tell her that you will be with her

every step of the way

Let her know that when she’s lonely

you’ll care for her everyday
