“Support Our Troops AND Their Families”

Many say they see a light

It seems that’s not the case tonight

Many say they see someone

But all I see is my dear son

I see him running with his toy

I see him as a little boy

My wife is running with him too

Smiling, laughing, nothing new

There they were, safe and sound

Wish that I could be around

Just for one last hug and kiss

Wish it hadn’t come to this

As I watch I try to reach

As they run along the beach

Graceful in the way they move

Like there’s nothing left to prove

As the seconds turn to years

I see both of them in tears

I see my dear son and wife

Holding on so tight to life

I see them so close to me

Can’t believe it’s all I see

As I lay here on the street

Tears drop with my last heart beat
